Miami-Dade is also studying the best mode of transit for the corridor between Miami and Miami Beach as part of its $25 million SMART plan for the county’s six transit corridors. Genting’s proposal has prompted the county to open a bidding process that would allow other companies to make proposals for the project. Genting and its partners would pay the rest. Local and state governments would pay about $240 million of the $400 million project.
